Swedish massage with Helen Selendy
Helen, a Swedish citizen who recently relocated to the US, offers deeply focused, highly effective, individually tailored classic massage anchored in over 26 years of experience as a massage therapist in Sweden and a deep belief in her ability to heal with her hands.
Therapy is performed in beautiful surroundings at Deer Mountain Farm, surrounded by stillness and the harmony of nature.
The following treatments are available and can be customized to suit your individual level of pain, tension or discomfort.
Classic massage
A health maintenance and preventative form of treatment for physical discomfort associated with muscular tension. The treatment’s purpose is to counteract tensions that, left untreated, could lead to more serious damage. The focus in classic massage is solely on the body’s soft tissue — skin, connective tissue and muscles.
Hot stone massage
Hot stone massage is a holistic treatment using hot lava stones and aroma oils. The heating effect of the stones strengthens and deepens the massage’s capacity to reduce tensions, alleviate stress and restore balance. The stones become an extension of the therapist’s hands. Hot stone massage contributes to a sensation of total physical well-being.
Cranio Sacral therapy
Cranio Sacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system – comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
Cranio Sacral therapy is a gentle method of treating the bones of the skull and face in relation to the vertebrae, and down to the pelvis and sacrum. As a holistic form of physical treatment, the therapy can result on both mental and emotional effects through the removal of residual tensions.
